I hope to use this blog to post my drawings and other artwork for comment and an easy way to show my portfolio. Please do not copy this artwork without my permission, thankyou. Michelle Houston
I haven't posted in a while, I've been very busy, but I wanted to post for this topic. I had to do it quickly and chose to do a more stylized design. Hmmm... Not too sure what I think yet, but here it is.
I love the action and the worried birds. This reminds of the big dog that doesn't realize he is not a puppy or a lap dog but tries to lie on you anyway.
The textured sky is great as is the worried flock. You have created something very fun and enjoyable once again.
lol You won't believe me, but I saw something similar yesterday in my mum's garden. A little yellow-black bird (like the third one from right to left) made a flower fall down.
That reminds me of when the big bird (in my case, blue jays) tries to land on the birdfeeder that has all of the little birds (sparrows) on it...and is too awkwardly big to fit. It sends the birdfeeder swirling around in circles and everyone ends up spinning off.
What a fun illustration, I love the look on their faces. Great texture too, the wavy lines on the ground and sky, it gives it a lot of movement!
I had missed your illo for Wired, it's wonderful! You really capture fantastic poses, Ben is an amazing dog, another illo full of movement and lightness. I used a similar idea for "Gravity" but your interpretation is better! :-)
love your illo and your new puppy. my mom and sister each have australian shepards - both from the same litter. each has a unique personalily, but both are very sweet and loving.
