Fox in Winter

I really like the foxes colours against the snow. I did this on velour paper using chalk pastel. The velour paper allows you to get a nice soft feeling when doing animals.

Pronghorn are one of the animals that live on the vast prarie in Canada, our plains. Unfortunatly I didn't use a good quality paper and it caused ripples in the sky.

This is a portrait I did of a friends horse "Reggie", in water color and pencil crayon. He won the Queens Plate in the 90's and recently passed away. He will be missed on our trail rides through the Ganaraska forest.

Illustration Friday/Twist

Here are some twisty otters. They were done in watercolor with some pencil crayon. I haven't posted in quite some time and wanted to do something. This didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it to but it's a start. I should have done this on better paper, it didn't take to water very well and there are wobbles in it, but it kinda adds to the water effect.

Illustration Friday/ Snap!

I haven't posted in a while, I've been very busy, but I wanted to post for this topic. I had to do it quickly and chose to do a more stylized design. Hmmm... Not too sure what I think yet, but here it is.

Sasha

I did this horse portrait of a friends mare, Sasha, in chalk pastel on a sheet of velour paper. I really enjoy this medium. You can get a very soft look. Sorry for the photo quality, but this is a scan of a photo that wasn't very clear.

Arabian in Hackamore

This is a drawing I did for some friends who breed Arabian horses. Their buissiness was called, "Hackamore Arabians".

Cowboy & Horse

This was a exercise for me using pencil , concentrating on lights and darks without colour to get in the way. I left some areas unfinished not to get too wrapped up in details. My scanner wasn't big enough to show the whole drawing.
